I finished dressing up and went to Glenda’s room to try and wake her up, but when I got to her room she was already awake and dressing herself. What a clever girl, I thought as I made my way downstairs to prepare breakfast. I did not know what to make for breakfast because Sally was the one who usually prepared breakfast for us. So I took the easiest way out and made porridge, no hard work required, just add water and you are good to go.

We sat down and enjoyed our breakfast and went outside to wait for our transport. I had to go to school and face my demons, and when I say demons I’m referring to Jimmy. I was a happy soul and all that changed when I was at school.

Our transport swerved to Town View High as I was stuck in thoughts, thinking about Jimmy the bully.

As I got closer to the gates of Town View High, I started shivering. I knew that Jimmy wouldn’t give me a chance to blink for a sec, he would want to take my school money and flush me down the toilets.

Glenda and I parted ways and she headed to her class and so did I.

The bell rang for lunch and I had to give Jimmy my lunchbox before he started with his shenanigans.

I silently stood up from my chair and offered him my food. As I was reaching up my lunchbox to him, he slapped it and the whole class was full of bacon and cheese. He shouted at me with his aggravated voice.

“Do you think I’m a fool? Do I look like I eat kak for lunch?”

He spat the words to my face and what followed was a very hard slap across my face. I fell down and he continued beating and kicking me with his gang joining him. I was powerless. All I could do was cry.
