Danny felt so alone; he can’t even go to Thomas, since he made everything to worse. He needed some sort of comfort, so he went to get himself a drink. One drink led to another, and another drink after another. Danny did that every day, he found comfort in the bottle.

“Nobody ever cared about me, I thought I mattered. My own mother gave me away, because my father never wanted me.” He sipped his drink to drown his sorrows. “And now, the only people whom I call family, have rejected me. I’m alone, I’ve lost the fight, the farm, my wife, and my family.”

He started having girls around him just so he could blow money.

Sipho began to be concerned about Danny’s whereabouts, as his life was all over social media as a spender. Sipho’s health was worse now. Denise had been as supportive as a son should be, but no matter how good he was, he couldn’t make Sipho forget about Danny.

“Denise, I have to see Danny” said Sipho.

Denise looked at his father disapprovingly. “Dad, Danny is a mess. He destroyed our legacy and now he wants us to feel sorry for him.”

Sipho looked too weak to argue. “I don’t want to argue.” He started breathing heavily. “I just want to see my son.”

Naledi walked in with a porridge bowl. “I’ve made you some porridge, Sipho. Today, you have to eat.”

As she put the spoon in his face, he pushed it off. “I want to see my son, now!!” screamed Sipho.

“Dad, after what he did to us, you still want him?” asked Denise

“Maybe he’s right: Danny isn’t the same, he’ll just anger you” said Naledi.

“If I die without seeing Danny and hearing his side of the story, I’ll never forgive you. Now get out of here, and don’t come back till you have him” Sipho commanded, turning his back on them.

Naledi held Denise’s hand as they went out.

“Mom, dad has lost his mind. I won’t get Danny here” Denise said.

“Denise, the word of a dying man cannot be contradicted. Do as you are told.” Naledi said, as she left and went back in the room.

The Zondos were not the only people looking for Danny. Lerato also wanted to get through to him. She managed to find him in one of the clubs, dancing with all sorts of random girls.

She went to him. “Danny” Lerato yelled, hoping to get his attention.

He turned around and Lerato was there in the middle of a crowd. He laughed hysterically.

“Hey, look who decided to join us. Everyone, Lerato!” He saw she had Hope with her and mocked, “with a kid in a club.”

Lerato looked around and saw people were laughing at her. “Danny please, let’s leave, we need to talk.”

“Now you want to talk. Let’s talk.” He shouted, and everybody paid attention to their conversation. “Let’s talk about how, you slept with my brother” he said in an accusatory tone.

Lerato felt embarrassed. “Please stop, this is not you, I know you,” she pleaded.

“You know nothing about me. You know Danny Zondo, but that’s not even me! I don’t know who I am,” Danny laughed at himself, with tears forming in his eyes.

“Then let me help you. Please allow me, don’t push me away” said Lerato, appealing to the good in him. She stood for a while as he looked at her with no response. “You know where to find me.” She concluded on the doorway out.

If you were Lerato, what would you want to say to Danny? Would you forgive him?
