When justice is punishment for poverty
With the rich walking away scot free?
What is freedom if we have the right to remain silent,
But also freedom of speech and expression?
When the poor are persecuted for no reason because justice isn’t blind?
What is freedom if equality and justice are just words?
If some work when others get things delivered to them on a silver platter?
If the streets and the walls of our houses are monsters keeping us awake at night?
If justice and peace are so choosy in a nation regarded as a rainbow nation,
Where freedom is for everyone who cares to enjoy?
What is freedom if equality is unequal and justice unjust?
