I cannot remember clapping my hands
at my sister’s Debutant ball.
But I do remember the sweet fall,
Of going to sit down,

Listening to my grandfather’s hardships endured throughout his life.
Like when he had to leave school at a young age,
To go and work for his family.
I could imagine the sadness in his eyes.
Just like I remember,
My President declaring a National State of Disaster,
Locking down our country.
