Seasons were changing,
Stars disappearing with the moon.
The sun woke him up.
Too many impediments in his way,
He never altered.
It was never easy.

Despite the guns, drugs, booze and sex.
His mission was to be set free,
For he found solace in his dreams.
A sanctuary only he could access.
Too many distractions, the purpose remained the same.
He chose life, chose the light!
Chose not to lie and to fight for what is right.

“Life is for the living.”
Golden words printed on his sleeve.
Very courageous, never a dull moment
Like grapes to wine, he had matured nicely,
Very smart for he chose wisdom. But at what price?
