“I’ll always be next to you.”
Looking deep within her eyes, I saw pain and grief.
The pastiness of the room filled me with desolation.
The warm air from the blissful sun outside touched my skin with a pitiful brush.
Come closer she whispered as she smiled with eyes full of tears,
I held her callous hand as she smiled forgetting
And whispered ‘’I’ll always be right next to you.’’
These were the last words of my dying mother.
As she lay motionless on the bed, she lay filled with hope to see tomorrow,
But yet, everything seemed to fail her as she closed her eyes.
For painless days to come, looking at her soft unharmed skin
And purified red lips, my mother was gone.
