Africans will rejoice,
Someday we’ll unite,
Today we are traumatised,
Scared is us as a nation,
We try to face the situation,
Families are drowning.

Things ain’t the same no longer,
We are now the slave of this virus,
When will we heal?
As a nation we are considered a taboo,
We can’t shake hands,
Some do cry all night,
Some are awaiting death,
Difficulty is wearing us,
We are no longer safe,
Home is no more,
Stars no longer shine the same,
Where’s our sake?
Why’s there so much sadness?

We keep crying,
Although does it help?
No it doesn’t,
There’s this heavy cloud,
It’s hanging on our shoulders.

Are we to perish?
If we are then where’s justice?
We can’t live by fear,
Hope we should tie,
We once faced stormy weather,
We’ll get over this,
Even if not today,
With time life shall give a treatment.

We can’t even fake a smile,
We used to be happy,
Look at us now,
We are facing the hurricane,
We are at the dawn,
Is this the judgment day?
Is death near?
Death be not our catastrophe,
Sick are we,
Falling are we in a dungeon.
