Kids are raised by the whole village
Where we are all brother and sister
Mothers make sure every child is fed

I am from a place where
Knowledge is passed through generations
Elders are respected for their wisdom
Children look forward to bedtime for story time

I am from a place where
The rhythms of the drum
Beat in harmony with our hearts
As if describing our unity

Is what used to be
