(It is the Sunday of the weekend which Lusapho had visited his mother, and he is awaiting for his cousin, Lumko, in order for them to travel back to Johannesburg together, in order for them to get to work on Monday.)

Kegomoditswe: Son, before you leave, I just want you to know that, in life, we don’t get to choose who we are and how we got to be that particular person. So, regardless of how you were born and raised, you still grew up to become the man that you are today, and I’m very proud of you for that fact. God has everything planned out for all of us, and his word says that “those who wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint”. So, be strong and hopeful, son, and all will fall into place without you even noticing it. Your father and I were blessed with a wonderful son during our times of hardship; a time in which we had lost all hope. Now, it is your turn to give all your worries unto him that gave us life. But let me not take your time, son, Lumko is already here.

(Lumko enters the house.)

Lumko: Good morning! Good morning, family, how are you all doing? Man, time is not on our side, so we better hit the road, now.

Lusapho: (Laughing.) I see you’re still as hasty as always. Mom, we’ll just have to love and leave you. I don’t even know why this one is in such a hurry, when he’s the one who’s been keeping me here waiting for him for over an hour. And please, Ma, don’t you worry about anything, I’ll be fine. I only asked what I asked because I wanted to know and make peace with my heart.

Kegomoditswe: Alright, boys, go well and drive safely, okay?

Lumko: (Lets out a sigh.) I really hope he heard you clearly on the “drive safe” part.

Lusapho: (Laughs out loudly.) Come on, get in the car and let’s go. Aren’t you the one who just mentioned time not being on our side?

(The hooter beeps as the car heads out.)

Tell us: Now that Lusapho knows the truth about how his mother got to save him, what do you think he should now?
