It was a fine morning in November when policemen arrived at a mall after receiving a tip-off about a crime that would take place. It was very busy at the mall, so they were waiting for any unusual movement so they could attack, but it was hard because they had no specific information. Each policeman took cover and had specific duties. There was one odd aspect to the busy day: people were walking in groups and each group carried firearms. The police tailed them.
At the same time, Jane got into the bank and pointed a gun at a guard and got out with R100 000. Then she headed back to the car. The snatch was so quick it left the bank owners shocked. The car was long gone when the guard yelled, “Stop the car!” but it was too late.
One of the members of the gang was missing and they couldn’t leave him, but Jane said, “We can’t risk our lives for one person.”
At the mall one of the gang members was stranded so he decided to go and rob a store. The storekeeper shouted, “Help, help!” While shouting for help, the storekeeper got shot and it made the policemen run to the store. The gang member tried shooting at the police, but eventually he was shot in the head. The gang member was Malcolm, Jane’s husband. He started his crimes when he dropped out of school at the age of 10 and got a gun at the age of 15. He wasn’t much of a big fish, but he had a lot of troubles with the police. At the age of 23 he killed his abusive uncle.
The killing of Malcom was a hit with all newspapers and TV shows. Jane knew that the gang member they left was her husband. Jane and Malcolm married privately and only a few people knew about their marriage. It was all her plan to leave him there and get him killed. She didn’t want to look like a suspect so she called the police station.
“Why did you kill my husband, he was all I had…my first husband died because of you,” Jane pretended to sob. Jane played the grieving widow to perfection.
After a few months she got the inheritance left by Malcolm. Within months of the death of her husband, she had another lover, a young boy called Rick. Rick also had his dark side. He was in jail for corruption and his case was not dismissed yet. He was wealthy and Jane decided to marry him in secret, and he agreed.
One week before Rick’s case would be open again, Jane took out her gun while they were having dinner and shot Rick in the head and threw out all the evidence. The police came by and Jane explained, “I am not lucky when it comes to love, a stranger came into our house and murdered my husband.”
Until now no one knew the mastermind behind the killing. Jane is now happily married to a TV presenter.
