Pains come and go, but the heart does not get used to any pain. It heals, but it doesn’t become numb.

The heart is not ignorant, it cannot avoid pain. Feelings are lively, the heart can’t be numb. Feelings are lively and if they were to be handled, the heart would not get hurt easily. Why? Because if the pain was about to strike, the feeling would be turned off to shield the heart from being painful.

If feelings had an ON and OFF switch, it would be easy for the heart to control pain. When a slight feeling of pain is felt, if the feeling had a switch, the switch would be turned off quickly. Quickly, before the pain became too severe for the heart to endure.

Unfortunately, feelings are always active. Accordingly, the heart will not escape pain, it cannot run or hide from pain. The pain can reiterate in the heart, not only pain, but pain caused by identical incidents. The pain will not be less in the heart for the fact that the heart has experienced it before.

If the pain was caused by death or love before, the pain will be severe for the heart. If the pain is caused by death or love now, the pain will still be severe for the heart. Time does not command how the pain will strike the heart. Meaning? If the pain was caused by death or love ten years ago, that does not mean the pain will not be as severe for the heart as it was 10 years ago. The pain experienced by the heart now might even be twice as much as the heart felt 10 years ago.

The heart does not control pain. The pain is controlled by how strong the person going through it is.
