“No, change the channel this movie is scary. Yinhla, please change the channel,” I said.

Yinhla was just laughing, saying, “It is just a movie it does not happen in real life, don’t be a coward.”

I then stood up and went straight to my room. I played music for a few minutes then suddenly, I was in the street all alone, it was dark and raining. While I was roaming around those dark and scary streets, I heard voices of men coming closer towards me.

I had no idea where to run to since I did not know where I was. I started looking at the left side, there was a white house with no lights, I looked on the right side and it was just long grass. Now, I must decide where to go. My mind told me to go to that long grass, but my heart told me to go hide in that white dark house. I then followed my heart and immediately ran to that house.

I opened the door slowly, looking around. I opened the curtain to see if those were really men or if it was just in my mind. While I was looking outside, I heard a sound of a pan falling. My heart started to pound. I looked around, I tried switching on the lights but nothing. I was then sweating. I tried to be calm but that sound repeated. I thought I was going crazy or something. Then I decided to open the door and start running but the door did not open.

I used all my strength to open the door, but still, it did not open. Then my last idea was to jump out from the window. When I tried opening a window, I heard a loud voice asking, “Where do you think you are going?”

I started shivering, shouting for help but it seemed like no one could hear me. The sound came closer and closer I could not see anything because the house was so dark.

“Who are you? What do you want from me? Please do not hurt me,” I said.

While I was crying silently, the sound now changed to laughter. They started laughing horribly. I started praying in my heart. They came closer to me. I felt like those were not human beings but ghosts because their sounds were changing. I felt them closer to me, then I felt a hand grabbing my hair.

I started shouting, “Leave me alone, no!”

“Ntombi, hey what is wrong?” It was Yinha waking me up.

I woke up and realized it was just a dream. I made a promise to myself that I would never watch horror movies again.
