Melokuhle

I love surprises but not one that I have to sit through for 2 hours straight, the anxiety is killing me and Melusi is doing nothing to ease it.
I have also grown tired of asking and asking knowing that I will not be getting an answer, at times like this I hate how tight lip he can be.
The car rolled down to a vine yard, I turned to Melusi “You know I can’t drink right?”
Melusi looked at me with a little grin and said nothing but confusion morphed into my face as I looked at my mom and dad standing at the open vineyard.
“What’s going on?” I asked as I got out of the car, my mother came to me and Melusi went to shake my dad’s hand. Ohh when did that happen? When did they become best buddies?
“Come.”
I looked at Melusi hoping for some answers but he completely ignored me as he laughed at something my dad said.
Great.
We walked into the only building ing in this vineyard. Everyone looked like they had been expecting me as they led me in the toilet. Those fancy toilets with some gold handles and shining floors we see on TV and envy to set foot in.
“What’s going on?” A laughter escaped my lips, it isn’t everyday where you get to be ushered into a the toilet by a group of women and your mother following suit.
“Getting ready for your wedding.”
Melusi and his last minute wedding plans doesn’t he get tired? But all of this is as exciting as the first time we did it when my father tried to stop me from dating Melusi and tried to keep us apart by locking me in my room, now thinking about it, it seems like it happened long time ago.
“Are you and dad involved in this one last minute wedding planning?” I looked at my mother briefly, stripping down my dress. My mother shrugged “We were called last night to be here.”
“And what’s with him and dad? Are they best buds now? Not that I’m complaining or anything.” It’s just weird to see them together and laughing, it will take time for me to get used to it.
“Yesterday after telling us to be here, he talked to your dad and they talked for hours, they were also laughing. I wonder what we missed. I’m just glad that they are now close all thanks to that little bun in the oven.”
“Yeah.” I looked at myself on the mirror looking breathtaking in my not so traditional wedding dress but who cares it ain’t like I am marrying the guy for the first time.
“Melokuhle.” Melusi knocked on the door. My mother went to the door and opened just a little bit so that I am not visible “It’s bad luck to see the bride.”
“I have to.”
“Nope.”
“Okay tell her to stand on the left side the wall out and I’ll stand on the right side.”
I nodded letting my mother know that it is okay and that I will meet with him.
“Okay she’ll be there in 5 minutes.”
I got there in 2 minutes, the excitement inside of me bubbling as I stood at my side of the wall. It feels like I am a kid again doing something I am not suppose to be doing and I happen to like these little conquest that Melusi sets now and again.
