Judy Norton has a Degree in Journalism and Literature from Rhodes and a Masters in Applied Linguistics from Stellenbosch. She has been a journalist, teacher, textbook writer and editor and restaurant owner/worker, and in between has written a couple of teen novels, plus many stories for younger children for reading schemes. She has two children of her own and has always been interested in issues facing young people in Southern Africa. Today she freelances as a writer and editor, and is spending more time on fiction writing. “I have a light-hearted side because I am very sociable and love to sit round a dinner table with friends having good conversation and lots of laughs, or dancing at parties. I also love the outdoors and hiking and have been 4x4ing all over Southern Africa to wild places. Yet, much of my writing is issues-based, and when it comes to equality and human rights, or the environment, I am very serious-minded! I hope both sides of me show in my writing. ”
