My name is Jean-Paul Willemse. I am twenty years old. I am a student studying from home. I am a confident writer and during this (NAC) project I thought I would not learn much. I thought I would just write a story and be done with it, but I was wrong. This project has taught me to look at my work critically and how to edit effectively. The dialogue in my previous stories was not properly integrated into my descriptions, but after listening to my mentor I could use dialogue correctly.
On the subject of my mentor, I am grateful that I had Marie as one. She was patient and allowed me to express myself with confidence. Her criticism was always constructive. She is awesome.
I advise young writers to never listen to the doubts they have. They should always carry on writing no matter what, even if the final product is crap. Writing is a process and it will get better. If not, then quit.
My dream is to write for a living and never leave my house.
