I am 21, turning 22 on the second of November. I was born and bred in East London, Scenery Park. I started writing when I was 14 or 15, I can’t quite remember but it was for Fundza. I used to follow every story and I sent my story in to the Fundza Fanz section. The title was ‘Light at the End of the Tunnel.’ I wrote it at a difficult time of my life when I was confused and depressed. But that first story which was so close to home, started my writing career.
My first, self published novel, “Ï Will Not Cry” I came out in 2015. It was featured in ‘The Daily Despatch’ in 2016. From that I got the opportunity to mentor 50 young girls from Umzamomuhle in East London with their writing.
I obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science from the university of Fort Hare and I’m now teaching English as a foreign language. I am really interested in helping people by understanding and respecting the challenges they face.
I am a passionate person and writing has been my life for as long as I can remember.
