My name is Vuyo Mpisekhaya and I am a 20-year-old male. I am from Gauteng. I am studying for a BEd degree at Witwatersrand and currently in my 3rd year. As an English major, I always look for opportunities to improve in the language in order to be the best English teacher that I can be as I am very passionate about teaching children the English language.
In my writing, I like to focus on themes relating to love, life and death. I particularly like to contrast experiences faced in childhood with early adulthood and how the pursuit of happiness in my opinion can be achieved with adopting some behaviours from when one was young and ignorant to the problems which plagues most adults and leads them to stress, depression etc. However, my definition of happiness is unlike what most presume it to be. I believe that the childhood stage was the last time any human-being is truly and wholly happy. By being aware of worldly issues means that an adult can have some happiness in their lives but not complete happiness because of the sad realities that they are unfortunately not ignorant to (death, rape, poverty, racism etc.) Due to my philosophy, my writing may seem to be normal, witty or humorous at times at first glance but I always try to include negative, cynical and sad undertones that mirror how I view the world now as opposed to my fully happy childhood.
