I was born and bred in Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga. I started writing at the age of 13 when I was in grade 7, at Sediba SA Thuto primary school. But it all started with music, I used to write and rap my own lyrics and that’s where my passion for writing poems started. I realized I was a good writer in high school when I used to write exceptional essays every time in class. I completed my matric at Magabotse Secondary school with a Bachelor’s. I got a lot of compliments from different teachers praising how I always get my sentence construction and vocabulary right. I became a sophisticated and critical thinking person to a point where I became a motivational speaker at school. High school is where the love for poetry escalated because my principal used to call me to assembly to resite one of my poems. I am inspired by the late Shake Spear and Maya Angelou. My favourite quote is “Success is not final; failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts.” — Winston S. Churchill
