Alwaba Beaulha Matoti was born on the 14 December 1992 in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape.

Alwaba started her schooling at Tom and Gerry preschool where she took part in a number of drama concerts. She went on to Cotsworld Preparatory School where her love for writing developed and was shaped by her reading teacher Mrs Muller.

Alwaba then finished her primary at Rowallan Park Primary School having achieved a number of awards in literacy and sport.

She then went to Edu College High School and was a co-founder for the school poetry club called Ed-U Poets in Action. Alwaba is now a student at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University studying towards an Economics qualification.
