I thought I knew the pain of breakup better than anyone else.

I thought I knew the pain of rejection most.

I thought I understood what love was all about.

I was sure

And ready I was to love somebody again

But I was wrong.

Like a lonely and unwanted bird, you came to me

You let go of your ego,

You sacrificed yourself for me

Till everyone knew that you love me so much.

I thought, maybe because no one was interested in you

Again, I was wrong about you.

You gave me your time without expecting much from me

I was consumed by my ego.

Due to breakups, I didn’t let you in fully,

And yet, you let me know that I was so special to you.

You let me finish whatever I started

You changed my mind like a mentor.

The way you loved me, gave me knowledge,

I learnt something from you.

Love was about trust, sacrifice, security and loyalty to you.

I’m happy now because of all the efforts you applied I can stand and shout to the crowd,

That I love you so much.
