Death is sudden
and life is a burden
we can’t carry on our own –
I don’t mean to bury you
between these lines
and through these rhymes
that have packed my demons
well inside a nicely decorated
coffin;
ready to be buried
between these pages -:
__
When death finally comes
reaching for my hand;
Asking for my hand
in marriage –
Please, let all poets
gather around my coffin
and walk me down the aisle
with their fruitful words;
Singing praises,
embracing the phrases
of togetherness
and oneness -:
__
Death is sudden
and life is a burden
we can’t carry by ourselves;
We all need a shoulder to lean on –
The beauty of life
is hidden in plain sight,
we don’t need to look far –
We need to care;
for everyone living
through this nightmare
of a life,
Put aside wealth;
It is the reason
a lightning came from nowhere
and struck us off our land -:
Prove to me
that you really care
before death comes
reaching for my hand;
Give me love
while my heart can still grab it
with both hands,
Oh Well -:
