I’m from the township
where witchcraft dominates
the population -:
We sing melodies
of despair
from the corner benches
while awaiting to hear
who has been caught
doing what
at whose yard -:
We still have dreams,
we just have lost hope –
You see,
faith is a tough pill to swallow
especially on an empty stomach -:
__
We sing melodies
of despair
from the corner benches
while smoking branches –
Sobriety has become a disease
so we are forced to vaccinate
so we can lose touch
with the reality -:
__
I’m back
like I never left –
Of course I never left;
I just took a short left
hoping to bump into this
guy who stole my poetry
but instead;
I ran into a white lady
who reserved all my rights
as a poet –
Have you ever wondered
why angels are white
and not black?
I don’t mean
to sound mean
but maybe black is a curse –
Look at our President,
look at the black residents,
struck by a collision
over a religion -:
If God is one for all,
then why the sudden division
amongst Christianity?
Wait, what skin color
were Adam and Eve?
Weren’t they black?
I mean,
it would make sense
why there’s a dark cloud
hanging over us;
Right?
