We are a nation with souls bleeding
A community with pains and sorrows exceeding
We are a city where darkness reigns in daylight
Because joy and happiness has faded in the night
Our souls are weeping and bruised
We are the people, moody and confused
We are a broken society.
We walk with bruised souls and limping
Yet we hide them behind the masks called smiles
Daily swimming in pools of pains and sorrows
Daily mourning the lost of hope.
When we hold to the grip of hope, it fades
And so we are a grieving nation in despair.
We’ve dug our own graves
We’ve buried our own joy
And we’re the cause of this chaotic havoc
But please Lord, heal our broken nation
Mend our bruised community
And deliver us from evil.
Please heal our broken society.
