Every step of the way, there was your light
Every journey I took, there was your light
On the darkest night, there was your light

Above me every turn I made, there was your light
When there was no sun to shine, the light you gave.
You never let go of me, you believed in me
You made sure, I never got into the darkness alone.
You were a friend in need, with ups and downs

I didn’t know, the coming steps
Your light was there for its own benefit
The darkness was miles away, no world I thought of
No prediction, a lesson of life to learn.
The shine and brightness of it, in your own diary.
Do I blame you? Or was part of your journal
The history to be written in my obituary
The darkness is near, I’m lost, the life I used to have.
