As harmless as it may sound

A wish will have you bound

Limiting all you could do

And have you surrender everything to

The idea that a miraculous something

Will give you everything

Many times we did perish

Because we left everything to a wish

We gave up trying

We even stopped fighting

Limiting ourselves and what we can do

Please, don’t let this be you

I want you to remember this before

You make a wish for

Anything you may desire

A wish will put out your fire

Instead, just keep on working

And never resort to wishing

A wish can be made anywhere

Yet it’ll take you nowhere

If you have time to wish

Then you have time to spare
