Life after matric can be exhausting and depressing at the same time. When I was in grade 10 I used to think that after completing my matric everything will be alright and I will live a soft life, but trust me, I was wrong on that one.

After completing my matric in 2014, I took a gap year the following year because I didn’t get a chance to apply for tertiary education due to a lack of knowledge. The year 2015 was a difficult one for me, it was all about overthinking all the time because I was sitting at home doing nothing for the whole year.

In 2016 I went to Taletso TVET College (Lehurutshe Campus) to study Management Assistant. I struggled with my first semester, but I told myself that what I’m going through is temporary and I’m going to make it no matter what. I managed to complete my course and I still thank God for my patience.

Last year November, God decided to bless me with a job. I’m now working as a General School Assistant at a primary school. It’s not a permanent job, but I will always be grateful for this opportunity. Never give up black child, trust the process.
