I believe people should not be judgemental towards one another. As people, we must let God judge his people in his own time.

There’s no person who is given authority to judge someone else. The standard he/she will be using to judge another person will not be the same as God’s standard of judgement. A human mind is never the same as God’s mind when it comes to a judging department. What a person thinks is not what God thinks. Isaiah 55v8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways”, declares the Lord (NLT).

Someone might say “because I have never done what this person has done so I’m more righteous than this person so I have a right to judge him/her”. For example, a couple that is unmarried decides that it’s time they add a new member to their family and they do exactly that. The baby is born but out of wedlock. People might criticize them. Saying that they have sinned, the child is not acknowledged by God. We find Jesus blessing children in Luke 18v15 One day some parents brought their little children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them (NLT). Parents here are not specified whether they are married or unmarried or single parents.

It just says “parents“. To God a child is his creation, so how can someone hate what he has created? So the Son of God by blessing children, simply means he doesn’t show favouritism towards the parents. Whether married, unmarried or single. Romans 2v11 For God does not show favouritism (NLT).

John 8v4 “Teacher”, they said to Jesus, “this woman was caught in the act of adultery. v5 The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say? v7 They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, “All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!”

Well, this woman did sin according to the law concerning marriage bonds. She broke her vows but where is the man she was committing this sin of adultery with? He’s nowhere to be found because according to their standard of judgement the man did not sin, only the woman. To them as humans, the man is always on the right and the woman is always on the wrong when it comes to adultery cases. The Son of God handles this case in a fair way that is if a man is blameless so is the woman. Why must she bear shame and punishment alone? Most of us have made this mistake that was done by these people many times, judging unfairly the situation.

Let us watch ourselves that we don’t play god in other people’s lives because judging is for God alone. Let us live that to Him. No person is given permission or a right to criticize badly another person. If a person judges he/she will also be judged the same way as that person has judged others.

Let us be careful. Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you.
