Game: 30 SECONDS!

Instructions:

• Divide the class into two equal groups.
• Give a member of Group 1 a word card.
• The member has 30 seconds to explain that word to their team.

Helpful hints for the person explaining:

• Use categories, eg it’s something to eat, it’s a fruit
• Then give the smaller details, eg it’s sweet and red and grows in gardens – strawberry (NB: You would only get 1 if you say ‘it’s a kind of berry’)

The Rules:

• 2 points for every word guessed right
• Only 1 point if you used part of the word
• Only 1 point if you used Xhosa in your explanation
• The facilitator’s judgement is FINAL!
• Team members will be DISQUALIFIED AND RED-CARDED if they argue back!
