When you write you may repeat yourself or use words that do not add to the meaning of your story. A good idea is to read over your writing and to check this.
For example:
There was a girl called Thandi who went to Harmony High could just be: Thandi went to Harmony High.
I had to repeat myself again could just be: I had to repeat myself. (again means the same thing!)
Here is an example of a paragraph that uses too many words to say the same thing and so is difficult to understand.
In my personal opinion I think that the first thing to do, before anything else, is to find out if the girl or boy you are interested in, and may want to go out with or find out more about, whether they have a boyfriend or girlfriend already.
Cut down the words to make it:
I think that the first thing to do is to find out if the girl or boy you are interested in has a boyfriend or girlfriend already.
Check your writing for this unnecessary padding.
