Max practiced every day and he was getting better and better.

“That must be superpower shoes!” the others said as Max sped past them.

“Yes!” He shouted.

Max won first place and he couldn’t wait to show his dad.

“Dad! Did you see? I won! I won! All thanks to your lucky shoes! Thanks dad!” Max said.

“That’s my boy! I knew you could do it, well done son!” His dad said.

“Yes, all thanks to your shoes dad,” Max said, smiling.

“Listen son, there is something I need to tell you.” His dad said, leaning in, “That was never my shoes, it’s yours.”

“But your signature is on here…wha…it’s gone!?” Max said confused.

“Yes, Max, I replaced it. I knew you would think it’s because of my shoes but the truth is son, you can do all things you don’t need the luck of your father.

Max started training every day, believing in himself and he became a professional athlete just like his dad.
