Max grew up seeing his father become a brilliant athlete for the country.

“I want to be just like you dad!” He said.

His dad was his role model.

At school he tried his best and he made it in the athletic team. But then he saw he wasn’t as fast as his dad and he became sad.

“They’re ahead of me, why am I so slow?” He shouted as he tried to run as fast as he could, but he just could not keep up.

He went home defeated, he felt like a failure.

He went inside the house and looked at his father’s photos on the wall.

“I’ll never be as good as you dad,” he sighed sadly.

Just then his dad, Andy came in.

“Son, I want you to have this. It will help you win the game, it was my lucky shoes that helped me.” His dad said smiling.

“No way!” Max said excitedly, “so if I wear this I’ll be faster?”

“You’ll not only be faster son, you’ll win the race,” his dad said smiling.

“Thanks dad! I’ll make you so proud!” Max said proudly accepting his dad’s lucky shoes.

“Son, here wear this, this was my lucky shoes when I was your age.” His dad said giving him his shoes.

“I definitely will be faster now, just like you dad!”
