When Carly knocked on Crystal’s front door it swung open by itself.

“Hello,” she called. There was no answer.

Carly let herself inside and looked around. It didn’t seem like anyone was home.

“Crystal?” she called.

She peered inside Crystal’s bedroom but it was empty. She noticed that Crystal’s favourite pink duvet had been replaced by a black satin coverlet. In fact, the room had been stripped of everything remotely childish including Crystal’s collection of porcelain ponies.

Carly moved on. She reasoned that Crystal had probably just forgotten about her and had gone to the mall. It’s not like her best friend hadn’t blown her off before.

When Carly reached the kitchen she heard a sound coming from the laundry room. She breathed a sigh of relief. That’s where Crystal was.

She walked confidently into the room and looked around. The sound she had heard was the washing machine spin cycle.

“Crystal?”

She jumped at the sound of a door slamming behind her. She span around, just as the key clicked into place. She was being locked in.

Carly banged her fists on the door. “Crystal, let me out? What’s going on?”

QUESTION: Who you do you think locked Carly in the laundry room?
