Did you know that today is International Children’s Day, June 1st. Children’s Day is a day to highlight children’s issues. And yes, we are celebrating all the kids out there and what better way to celebrate than through reading with FunDza!

Reading is important for anyone, all ages. However, research has shown that children who read for pleasure do better in maths and English.

Reading too helps with empathy, which is the ability to understand someone’s feelings.

According to an article by Healthline, reading helps with bonding, listening skills, cognitive and language development, expanded vocabulary, attention span, creativity, and life lessons.

FunDza has loads of stories to read and we even have stories for the little ones, our little reading champions. If you’re an older brother or sister, a mother, father, uncle, aunt, etc, then do your little one a favour and read to them.

Our latest children’s story is a lesson on not being greedy or you will face the consequences. Another popular story is that having a disability doesn’t mean you can’t do amazing things.

Children are the lifeline for the future and as John F. Kennedy said, “Children are the world’s most valuable resource and its best hope for the future.”

So, what are you waiting for? Read, read, read.
