It’s a New Year which means you have been given another opportunity to start fresh and take care of yourself. Taking care of your body is one of the most rewarding things you can do for yourself. But the trick is to know exactly what each body part needs in order to get the best results. This week I am going to be highlighting some key parts and provide you with some tips that can hopefully get your body to where it needs to be.

Feet

I know most of us don’t pay too much attention to our feet, but did you know that the organs, the nerves, glands and other parts of the body are connected to reflex points on your feet and hands. So it is very important to make sure that you take care of your feet.

According to an online article by the National Diabetes Education Program you need to wash your feet every day and with warm (not hot) water. You need to check your feet for any pain, sores, cuts and more in the evening when you remove your shoes, to make sure that your feet are healthy. After washing your feet, you need to use pumice stone to smooth corns and calluses if you have any, and also remember to moisturise your feet. It’s very important that you take care of your feet because you need them every day to get around.

Hands

Your hands are so important and like your feet, if you don’t take care of them they can quickly became damaged. An online article by Real Simple said that at the age of 30 your skin-cell production decreases by 10 percent, making your skin less efficient at repairing itself. The tops of the hands, where the skin is thin, can show signs of age first―unlike the thicker-skinned, often-under-cover palms. (For instance, when hands lose plumpness, due to the breakdown of collagen and elastin and the loss of fat, veins and knuckles can start to look more prominent.)

This is why you need to look after your hands daily. There are many helpful lotions in stores that you can purchase which can help to reduce the dark spots, yellowing of nails and many other things that might occur over time. Also, after using household cleaning products, remember to wash your hands and moisturize them to avoid getting sores or other illnesses. Remember if you neglect taking care of your hands, you might end up needing medical help.

Face

Taking care of your face is something that you need to do daily and also something that you need to be very careful about. Your face has very sensitive skin and therefore if a product doesn’t work well with your skin type, then it will immediately reflect. Which is why people end up with spots, pimples, rashes and many other breakouts.

The first step to taking care of your face is to wash it at least twice a day, every day, morning and evening. This is because your face becomes oily over time and also the products that you apply on your face build up and clog your skin. After washing your face, you need to use a cleanser to clean any excess products that might still remain behind even after a wash. Then use a toner to completely clean your face and refresh the cells, after this process you apply your moisturiser. Try to stick to the products that work for your skin, so if you know which ones use them continuously so as to not overarm your face with too many products. Also your diet and stress levels affect your face greatly, so take care of what you eat and also your attitude. Try and be happy as often as possible as that will reflect on your face and help you to have that natural glow.

I hope you found these tips useful and always remember to take care of your feet, hands and face, because a healthy you is a happy you. #staytrendi
