Max wakes up early to watch the news and check for information about the stolen gem. When the news ends he tidies up his room, and makes an omelet and toast to eat. He sleeps again on the bed. The timer wakes him up, and he bathes and gets dressed into his jean and shirt. He grabs his jacket and checks the time; it’s 6 pm. He grabs a taxi to town. It’s getting dark and the street is busy with some people rushing home and others shopping. He wears his hood and lights a cigarette. He walks down to the Park station, looking down. The Park station is full with buses boarding and some dropping off. He walks to the stairs to go to the train. An old man plays a guitar with a plate next to him with coins that don’t reach more than 10 Rand. Max sighs and then he looks up to see if his friends are there. He stands by the corner because they aren’t there yet. He puffs his cigarette and sees a glimpse of Gary. He watches him as Gary bumps into a lady with a small handbag on her shoulder.

“Sorry, ma’am,” he says, standing watching for his friends. He opens the small purse which he snatched from lady and smiled. Carl and Lesley come from the stairs as Max throws his cigarette down and stomps on it with his feet to put it out.

The hooting of the train starts to get loud. They gather together while people start running to the train that is stopping in front of them.

“Let’s go!” Carl announces.

The sit on the benches. A man wearing a black suit with a striped shirt walks in; he is carrying a briefcase and his looks are dangerous and foreign. He wears a black hat that makes it so you can’t recognize his eyes. Carl recognizes him and stands close to him. His face is hiding under his hat. He has shining teeth; Max noticed it’s because of gold teeth.

“Gentleman, can I see the gem?” he whispers checking to see if the coast is clear. Max looks up straight hoping he can see the cash.

“Ok,” Carl says, shaking his head once.

Gary gives the man a wrapped khaki paper. The man looks inside and nods.

“Good doing business with you,” he says, handing the briefcase to Carl. The man walks away to the other suite. Carl doesn’t open the briefcase, and Max stares at it with snares.

“Why can’t you give me my share? I want to drop off at the next stop,” he demands.

“You are foolish; do you want us get robbed?” Carl hisses and slaps his cheek.

“He is a guard, and he definitely acts like it,” Lesley laughs.

“This is not security work, this is the real world,” Gary laughs.

They get off the train at Soweto and take a taxi back in town. Once they are back in town, they went straight to the abandoned building.
