The next morning, Max and his colleagues give their statement at the police station. His colleagues tell them about the shadows they saw in the Great Hall. They are all taken to their security firm afterwards. The commander tells them to go home until investigation is over. The Treasure Quest Hall will be closed for the meantime.

Max goes home to take a shower. He takes some leftover to eat when his phone vibrates. It’s Carl, he grabs it quickly.

“My man, when are you coming?” Carl asks.

“Oh …. I am on my way,” Max replies.

He grabs his jacket and his black Nike sneakers. He takes a walk to the abandoned building which is at the end of the town. It has a roof but most of the windows are broken and the doors have been removed. He sees the guys’ car on the cramped road. He wears his hoods and walks inside the building, watching his back.

He finds them on the second floor which has windows and a door.

Carl is smoking while Gary and Lesley sit on the broken couch. Carl holds the gem in his hands.

“At last! Tell us what the police saying!” Carl shouts.

“They haven’t said anything but they are looking for evidence,” Max answers and joins the guys on the couch.

“You must be our eyes and ears out there,” Carl smiles wickedly.

“Don’t worry,” Max says.

Carl gives his friends cigarettes to smoke. They all inhaled in and out. The room is filled with smoke.

“Boss, what about the money?” Max asks curiously.

“We haven’t found a buyer for the gem yet, and you talk about money,” Carl hits Max’s shoulder, roughly.

“Hope we trust you on this,” Gary puts a knife next to Max’s face.

Max shivers and clears his throat. Gary walks close to Max. Max has been always afraid of the gang but he agreed to help them as long he gets a share of the money. He is most afraid of Gary’s wicked ways. He once saw him stabbing a guy who started a fight.

“He won’t sell us out. You won’t, will you?” Carl asks with a grin, looking straight in Max’s eyes.

“Nope I won’t…So, when can I get my cut?” he asks nervously.

“Tomorrow night.” Carl inhales the cigarette smoke.

Max walks out the building after they tell him to go. He walks back into town and decides to pass the Treasure Quest Hall. There aren’t many police officers, but he goes towards the door when he sees Dambuza.

“You aren’t allowed in,” Dambuza says.

“Was anything stolen?” Max asks, looking inside the building through the opened door.

He wants to pretend as if he doesn’t know so the police will not suspect him. He also wants to find out about evidence they found, as Carl instructed him.

“I can say the gem is stolen,” he answers.

“Oh shit, we are going to lose our jobs,” he touches his head with both hands play acting.

“You won’t. We found footage of three man who wore balaclavas,” Dambuza says, walking inside the building.

“Wait…Is there evidence of whom they are?” Max calls out but he didn’t hear him. He sighs and walks away back to his home in Newtown. He makes himself pap and roast sausage. He has to meet Carl and his friends for his share. His phone vibrates after he wipe his hands with a towel after his meal. He sees he has a text message from Carl.
