Molemo was sitting in her bedroom, looking up at the ceiling while busy playing with her necklace. Her mind was far away, and she had so many questions that needed answers. However, all those questions had to do with one thing: the necklace. Ever since she started wearing it, many things started happening, and she felt like she had some sort of powers or something. She did not feel like her normal self, and she suddenly felt like she was able to do everything. That worried her very much, and she knew she had to do something about it.

After a while, she got off her bed and went to the bathroom. When she was done, she found her mother outside the door.

“Lunch is ready,” her mother said.

“I will be there in a second,” she responded.

“Okay, and please, do not waste time, or your food will get cold,” her mother said, and then went back to the kitchen.

“Nywe-nywe-nywe, whatever,” Molemo said, teasing her mother, and then she went to the kitchen.

Molemo did not have a proper relationship with her mother. Well, it all started after Molemo started wearing the necklace. Her mother did not want her to wear it, so she tried all she could to get her to take it off, but failed. Their relationship was a bit rocky after that, and it seemed like the only way for things to go well was if Molemo took off the necklace, but she was having none of it.

She had gotten the necklace from her granny before she passed away. She told her to start wearing it when she was 14, and Molemo did just that. The necklace had a heart shaped diamond on it, and whenever Molemo felt some kind of emotion, it would change colour.

When she got to the kitchen, she sat down at the table and started eating. She then thought of something and decided to ask her mother about the necklace.

“Mom, can I ask,” she said.

“As long as it is not about the necklace, you can ask,” he mother responded.

“Actually, it is,” Molemo said. “Mom, please do not shut me out, I just need some understanding.”

“If there are things you do not understand, why won’t you take the necklace off then?” her mother asked. “I am sure you would not stay with a thing you fail to understand.”

“Mom please, I need you to just listen,” Molemo said.

“Okay, what do you wanna know?” her mother asked.

“Why don’t you want me to wear the necklace?” Molemo asked.

“I do not think I should be telling you now. The time will come for me to tell you, but right now is not the time,” her mother said, then stood up and left Molemo surprised.

After her mother was gone, Molemo knew there was something about the necklace that she needed to find out, so she decided that she was going to find the answers on her own.

Tell us: Do you think Molemo should listen to her mother, or should she just do what she can to find the answer she needs?
