After speaking, my mother and I quickly got ready, and she dropped me off at the airport. As soon as I got into the plane to Cape Town, my boyfriend called me because he wanted to fetch me at the airport and drop me off at work. When I got to Cape Town, I found him waiting for me at the airport.

“Baby, thank you so much, I don’t know where I’d be without you,” I said with a shy face. “I love you so much, and you do know that you are the LOML, right?”

“I know, and you are the LOML too. I love you to the moon and back. I’m not sure what that means, but I do. I really do love you, iNdalo yami. So, why don’t you bunk work today? Like, I really have something amazing in mind for us,” Sonwabile said, begging even.

“Okay, lets go home then,” I said with confidence.

From the airport, Sonwabile drove me to my apartment, and, when we got there, he asked me to close my eyes, held my hand, and walked me into the house. He then opened the front door, and after walking me into the house, he asked me to open my eyes. I did what he asked, and when I opened my eyes, the only thing I saw were the words “WILL YOU MARRY ME” hanging over beautiful decoration in my lounge.

I cried when I saw that because I was not expecting anything like that, and I did not even think twice about my answer to the question he had just asked me. I knew I had to say yes because he had built me a home in his heart, and he took really good care of me. I was very proud to say because he was everything any lady was looking for in a man.

Sonwabile and I got married through both traditional and Western weddings. I was very excited to see my best friend Celiwe besides me, supporting me during my wedding day. Everything was beautiful on that day, and soon after the wedding, my husband and I were expecting a boy child. My mom also got married, and she relocated to the United States of America with her new husband. Simo, on the other hand, continued his life in the United Kingdom, and he became an international chef, an author of a cook book, and he started a few businesses in both the UK and in the US.

Thank you once more for reading this narrative story. It is not a true story, and I was just testing my creativity in the field of the arts. Writing is therapeutic and healing for me, and I wrote this story with nothing much in my head, but sometimes it is pointless to write a story that has no message.

While writing this story, I figured out what message I wanted to write about, especially for parents. It is every parent’s dream to bear kids who are going to love and respect them. They want have kids that are ambitious and live the best lives they can. They also have dreams to see their kids happy and successful in life.

Today, in our communities, we see parents who are not happy because of their troublesome children. Some of those children do not take education seriously, and some of them invest their time in alcohol and weekend events. Well, I can say that no parent wishes to have kids who disobey them, and I have seen a lot of parents getting admitted into hospitals because of their children. It is not okay you, guys. Some of our parents sacrificed a lot in life just for us to have everything we have, and what do we do about it? We push them, instead of appreciating them and treasuring their presence in our lives.

So, honour your parents while you still can, and try your hardest to make them happy and proud.
