“Have I slept with a fan?” I asked myself, then when the woman I was sleeping with turned, horror struck on my face. I jumped off the bed, and, when my feet touched the cold white tiles on the floor, I quickly grabbed my boxers and vest. Ms Sibeko screamed when she realised what had happened too, then she slipped into my shirt and her panties.

“What happened?” I asked. Ms Sibeko shrugged in response, then she ran her hand through her soft weave. She was shaking. “This could ruin everything,” I said, sitting down.

“I could lose my job. Even worse, my teachers licence,” Ms Sibeko said while wearing her pants and shoes.

“Nobody must know about this. I don’t remember anything from last night, so, maybe nothing happened,” I said, not believing myself either.

“Don’t be stupid, Lesego! We both wouldn’t be naked if nothing had happened, and the bed wouldn’t be wet too,” Ms Sibeko responded, walking to the door.

“My shirt,” I said.

At my request, Ms Sibeko turned and took my shirt off, exposing her bare chest. I forced myself to look away. As she came to my side to pick up her shirt, it was like we were magnets, and in just a second, we were all over each other again.

“This must not happen again,” Ms Sibeko said, sitting up.

“I agree. I love Tshego,” I said.

“Good. Let’s get dressed and forget that you made me have six orgasms,” Ms Sibeko said, laughing softly.

“I’m that good, huh?” I said, smirking.

“You’re great,” Ms Sibeko said, then she got dressed and fixed herself up. I did the same too.

After Two weeks, I found a message in my Facebook inbox. It was from Ms Sibeko.

“Hey,” the message said. “I’m sure you’re wondering why you don’t see me at school any more. Well, I have resigned and taken another job in another part of town. It was great knowing you, Lesego the Lava! I figured it would be best if we were away from each other. You’re just a pupil, and we shouldn’t have done what we did. And I know I wouldn’t be able to contain myself around you. That’s how irresistible I find you! But, that really shouldn’t have happened in the first place. Take good care of yourself.”

I deleted the message, after reading it.

“Man, I got you a gig. R30 000, just for you to perform six songs from your album. An all-nighter,” Sifiso said.

Before responding, I looked at Tshego. It had been a month since the message from Ms Sibeko. She looked away. “R30 000?” I repeated.

Sifiso nodded in response. “Imagine that! Man, after this gig, we can stay for a whole two months without making any appearances,” he said.

We were all at my house, and I nodded, staring at my hands.

“So? Should I confirm? Will you be there?” Sifiso asked, beaming with pride.

“When will this gig be?” I asked.

“This weekend. Saturday, all night,” Sifiso responded.

I shook my head in response, holding Tshego close to me. “I’m taking my girlfriend to a hotel this weekend,” I said, then I smiled at Tshego, who looked up at me in awe.

“Man, please!” Sifiso said.

“Nah man, maybe some other time. I owe myself and my girl some time alone. Speaking of some time alone, please excuse us, we have a lot to do,” I said, winking at Tshego. She blushed and looked down.

“At least after this weekend, I can start booking you again?” Sifiso asked, walking out.

I smiled and nodded in response. We fist-bumped, and when he left, I locked the door, and Tshego came towards me. “What should we do?” she asked, kissing me.

“Study. It’s almost time for the end of year tests,” I said, and she laughed.

A while later, while we were cuddling in my bed, Tshego was wearing my t-shirt. “What changed?” she asked, breathing heavily.

“Priorities. School first, my family and girlfriend, then music,” I responded with a smile.

Tshego looked up at me with pride. She nodded. “Priorities,” she repeated.
