The rain stopped pouring and few people were to be seen on the road. Thulisile, in her faulty sandals, walked down the aisle holding her boy covered in muddy-thread.

Bhekizulu was not around when they got home. She washed Senzo’s feet with a clot and a warm dosed base while he slept on her bed. Late in the morning Mrs Mudzi pushed her trolley across the street, she saw the twin Bhekulwazi outside the police station. Mudzi changed course with regards to the kid and instigated on her quest.

Mudzi: “Lwazi what are doing here?” alarmed by her journey

Bhekulwazi: “Mom is hurt” eating her shy words from a ted

Mudzi: “So you’re here to get her arrested?” puzzled from the respond

Bhekulwazi: “No!”

Mudzi: “Who should get arrested?”

Bhekulwazi: “My dad” Mudzi was startled by the infant statement watching over the police station building while police vehicle drove past.

Thulisile at her house sat on the bed next to her boy troubled by heavy-thoughts, she strolled to the kitchen room to open a chest drawer and took out a bible.

She dragged the table chair and sat down to read “Blessed are you when men hate you, and ostracize you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of God. Be glad in that day and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven for in the same way their fathers used to treat prophets”. (Peter 5:1)

Tears fell beneath, bearing her redeemed soul. A loud knock on the door intruded her two minute of peace.

Mudzi came in before Bhekulwazi; Thulisile closed the holy book to talk to her friend from the market.

Mrs Mudzi: “Hey, do you know where I found this little one?” on her entry she positioned the trolley near the door sight. Outside the sky was grey, their tan shoes were soaked, Bhekulwazi went to her mother to embrace her by means of innocent guise.

Thulisile: “Where were you dear?” she contemplated through her honest eye grooming her brown hair backwards

Mudzi: “I did not hear from you yesterday” taking a seat far-off from the table to observe her eyeball

“So how did it go” Thulisile looked at her then stray from a lungful gaze

Thulisile: “I went to the hospital” breathing twice

“They told me I got diseases”

“Some of them I can’t even pronounce properly” her voice gulped a bubbling sound.

Mudzi: “I’m so sorry dear” looking down in despair

“What are those diseases?”

Thulisile: “I did not stay long enough because I do not have money to be the first in their list”

“But I have to come back every week to join long queues for my health because they said life is a journey”

Mrs Mudzi: “And what will you be going there for?”

Thulisile: “They said I’m diabetic”

“And sexually transmitted diseases”

Mrs Mudzi: “So what did he Bhekizulu say?”

Thulisile: “He said I’m the one infected him with HIV” looking in the sky

Mrs Mudzi: “Well I’m also living with HIV”

“It’s been four years and I’m still kicking” she said playfully as Thulisile watched her on fold

Thulisile: “I’m not sure if I want to do this anymore!”

Mrs Mudzi: “You have children, Thuli!” sincerely speaking

“It’s no longer your fight” shuddering her expression

Thulisile: “Well there you are!” foul smiling at her kid

“Tell me where you have been?”
