Daphney realized that Hlogi would end up getting hurt and advised her to stay away from him before it was too late, but she didn’t listen.
“Hlogi please stay away from him, he doesn’t love you. I know I am the one who said you should do something so that he could notice that you love him, but this is getting out of hand. Girl, stay away from him. Stop chasing other women’s men,” Daphney said one day.
Hlogi realized that her friend was right and she was hurt. But she just told her friend that she was just doing what made her happy. She just wanted to spend a little more time with him and she’ll stay away from him.
Two months passed and nothing happened.
The other day Jack called her and she went to his place. She then told him that she wanted to stay away from him because she loved him so much and knew he would never dump his girlfriend for her. What she was doing was to try and get her heart broken. Jack just told her that she was not sure of what she was saying.
It’s amazing how stupid you can be when you love someone; I should have seen this coming. How could I have been stupid? I should stay away from this guy before it is too late. I know it’s not going to be easy but I have to do it. What’s the point of running after someone who doesn’t have time for me? she thought to herself.
One day she decided to go and see him for the last time. She enjoyed having sex with Jack, but she told herself that she won’t do it this time. Things happened so fast, they started kissing and he started stroking her and she tried pulling away.
“Why shouldn’t I do it? I also want it, she thought to herself. Let me be true to myself, but I am doing it for the last time.
She then told him that she wanted it. They had sex and after that she felt stupid and swore to herself that she won’t do it anymore.
“Jack I want to stay away from you, but it is hard. I love you and don’t want to get my heart broken because I know you are not mine. This time around I am serious,” she said.
Then Jack said “I told you that you are not sure of what you are saying. And do you think staying away from me will be a good idea?”
“It might not be a good idea, but I have no choice. Whenever I think of you I get stressed. Especially when I think that I am sleeping with someone’s boyfriend,”
That was the last day she saw him. She deleted his number, unfriended him on Facebook and got rid of everything that reminded her of him. It was hard for her to get over him. She still had hoped that someday they would work things out. The other day she received a text from him.
Hey babe
She replied:
Hi. You know what, this thing of ‘babe, sweetie or whatever” should stop because it makes me to think a lot, I don’t like it.
He just said “OK”.
Days went by without them talking or seeing each other. It was killing her but there was nothing she could do. She was fed up with his lies. He shouldn’t have lied and said he will end the relationship he was in with another girl.
Most guys wanted to be with her, but she loved none of them. Her heart was filled with sadness because she couldn’t have the guy she loved. She just told them that they should be strong and move on when they can’t get her because she also didn’t get the person she wanted. One night when she was watching a movie in her room, she received a text from Jack.
Love you
She replied:
Jack why are you doing this?
Eish! I forgot, he replied.
“He forgot what? I know this is just a temptation and I can resist it. I am not going to ask him anything. I know it’s not easy, but eventually I will forget about him,” she said to herself while crying. She deleted the chat history so that she won’t have his number, in case she gets tempted to call or text him. Now she knew that it was not easy to stay away from someone you love.
Till this day, Hlogi hasn’t heard from lying, cheating, handsome Jack.
