Jack realized that Hlogi loved him and decided to be honest.

“Hlogi how would you feel if I said I have a girlfriend?” he asked.

“Oh, umm… honestly it will hurt. I don’t like pretending, it really hurts.”

“Ok, I have a girlfriend. Do you have a boyfriend?”

“Nope, we broke up two months back,”

There was a moment of silence and it happened that they kissed. Now that Hlogi knew that Jack had a girlfriend, she thought maybe spending time with him would make her feel better because she couldn’t have him as her boyfriend.

She started visiting him once or twice in a week and loved him more and more every day. One day when they were kissing Jack started stroking her all over the body and tried unzipping her jeans. She knew that he wanted to have sex with her. She also wanted to do it and at the same time she didn’t want. She then pulled away and asked:

“Jack why are we doing this?”

“You know sometimes we just do things but don’t know why we are doing them, I also don’t know,” he said.

I am aroused and I also want to have sex. Let me just stay true to myself and do what makes me happy. I hope I won’t love him more, he will never be mine. I am just doing it for fun, no strings attached, she thought to herself.

They had sex and started having it almost every time she went to his place. She started realising that she will get herself hurt if she keeps on doing this. Then one day she asked Jack:

“You know I am confused. What’s happening between us?”

“I don’t know, I think I am stealing you from someone,” replied Jack.

“Am I not the one who is stealing you from someone?” she asked while smiling and then said,, “actually I am trying to steal you from someone,”

“Oh I see, then I have to be flexible so that you can steal me,”

Hlogi became speechless and didn’t know what to say, she just kept quiet and smiled. She was happy, thinking that one day he will be all hers. She became patient and things continued to go the way they used to go.

One day she lost her patience and decided to ask Jack what he really wanted from her.

“Hlogi I want everything,”

“What do you mean when you say everything? You are confusing me,”

“I want to be with you, I love you. Haven’t I told you that before?”

“You never told me. What about your girlfriend?”

“That’s why I was afraid of telling you that I love you all along. You know I’ve been trying to end things between me and her but it is not easy since we are in good terms, we don’t have any problems in our relationship. But this time around I’m going to do it and I am going to be honest, I’m going to tell her that there’s you,”

Hlogi didn’t want to be too much excited but she was happy, thinking that finally he would be hers.

But Jack said something that showed that he was not sure of what he was saying.

He said that he might end up with Hlogi, or remain with his girlfriend and asked Hlogi how she would feel if he ended up with her or remained with his girlfriend. Hlogi was honest and told him that she would be happy if he ended up with her and will get hurt if he remained with his girlfriend but she would understand, and life would still go on. She ended up saying:

“Jack please do what makes you happy, don’t do or say things that would make me happy for nothing,”

She didn’t want to put pressure on him. She thought to herself, I am giving him two months to decide what he wants and if he doesn’t decide, I stay away from him.

Hlogi was a girl who didn’t like giving up so easily, she was patient. They stopped communicating the way they used to, but she just told herself that maybe he was busy with school work. Maybe that could be the reason why he had little time for her.
