It turned out that Themba was a very hard man to get hold of. He was hardly in the house so Mbali didn’t see much of him. He was a paramedic and worked for ER24. A man in uniform, a sexy man in uniform, as Mbali often thought of him. It was one of the reasons she found attractive about him. Whenever he got home and Mbali was holding a conversation with the other housemates, he would just walk past. Sometimes he would make a brief comment or just stare at her. She found him very rude towards her. She had to change his attitude.

“Kanti, does your brother live at home or at work?” she asked Sethu, one evening when they were doing the dishes together.

“He works for three days and is off for three days. That’s how his schedule is,” Sethu replied, taking a plate Mbali had just washed and handed to him.

“And when will he be off again?” she asked trying not to make a big deal of her questions.

“Thursday,” replied Sethu, paying no mind to Mbali’s interest in his brother.

Sethu was quite the opposite of his big brother. He was sweet and always pleasant to Mbali. He made her laugh and loved her opinions and company. He always helped her with the dishes whenever it was her turn and he would company to the shops too, or wherever she needed to be walked to. Mbali found in him a sweet, good friend. Her sights were set on his brother, the sexy paramedic.

That evening after they finished the dishes, Mbali went into her room to do her school work. Once she was done with it she checked her timetable as she always did, so she could pack books for the next day. But this time her attention was on Thursday’s schedule. Her first class would only start at eleven, as the lecturer who taught two of the subjects she was meant to get in the morning was away.

“Perfect!” Mbali said in excitement.

On Thursday morning Mbali got into her shortest shorts and cleaned her room. When she was done she went to do her washing. She left the bathroom door open as she washed her clothes in the bathtub. This way Themba could get a full view of her beautiful long beautiful legs. And he could take his time admiring her cute butt while she wasn’t looking. He could think about that next time he wants to be rude to me, she thought.

It seemed a perfect enough and simple plan. But the only problem was that Themba hadn’t come out of his room all morning. Mbali wasn’t fazed. He would have to get up and go to use the toilet at some point, she thought. Then she took her finished washing and went to hang it outside.

When she walked back in the house, she met Themba in the corridor. They greeted each other politely and she walked passed.

“Not going to school today?” he asked.

“I am, but my classes start late today,” she said smiling.

She could see form the look on his face that he had seen her perfectly. So when she was done with laundry, when bathed and went to school.
