It has been six days since we found Janine’s diary, and so far, we have not found anything that gives us a clue about where to find the master, or how we can break the curse. On this day, I am woken up by a rattling sounds in the kitchen, so I grab my gun and run downstairs. It is still dark, so when I switch the light on, I find Mylah eating raw meat.

“Mylah!” I shout.

She turns, looking startled. “Da-ad,” she responds with a mouthful of raw meat.

“What the hell are you doing?” I ask.

Instead of responding, she ignores me and rummages through the meat in seconds. As I look around the kitchen, I see empty plastic bags of meat lying around. She must have eaten all of it. After thirty minutes, she sits down, sighs, and wipes the blood off her hands.

“Raw meat?” I ask.

“I would rather eat this than humans,” Mylah responds.

“And … it helps?” I ask.

“In a way, yes.” she responds, and then burps and frowns. When she stands up, she sighs again. “Damn, I ate all of this?” she asks.

“You did,” I respond. “Are you sure you are okay?”

“I am fine. A human’s life was spared today, so I am happy. I do not know how long I can keep this up, though,” she says, tidying up.

“Where is your mother’s diary?” I ask.

“It is on my bedside,” she responds.

“Found anything useful yet?” I ask.

“Not yet, she is still going on about your relationship,” she responds.

“Maybe we should look for something else in her trunk, sweetheart,” I suggest.

“Maybe we should, but I will not stop reading her diary,” she responds, skipping upstairs.

I sigh in response, and when I reach for my cell phone, I notice that it is half-past five in the morning. I then see a dozen missed calls from Sapphire, so I call her back immediately.

“Sapphire,” I say, greeting.

“Adam, I have not seen you for two whole weeks. I miss you terribly!” she complains.

“I miss you too, my love,” I respond, blushing.

“Well, can I see you today? My house,” she asks.

“Of course. What time?” I respond.

“Half past twelve. We can spend the rest of the day together,” she says.

“There is nothing I would love more than that,” I respond.

“Bye then. See you soon,” she says.

“Bye,” I respond.

Tell us: Do you think he should tell Sapphire the truth about Mylah?
