I checked out the auditorium and found the best seat in the room. It was in the corner of the auditorium and it would give me the best view of the podium and the three front entrances.

I quickly walked to my corner seat before anybody else could get it. I settled down and tried to look relaxed, but I ended up looking more serious than the situation warranted. I saw mates choosing the seats they wanted for the lecture.

“I guess these guys didn’t check their time-table,” I thought. “What are you doing here when the lecture won’t start for an hour?” Well, it seems other people had the same plan as me and wanted to appear serious and punctual.

I was lost in thought when a distraction came and caused me to lost focus. A group of girls decided to come into a corner of the auditorium to take a bunch of selfies. Their picture taking spree was not the annoying thing, but rather the noise and cheers that accompanied their actions: ladies can be so funny sometimes. The selfie taking seemed to be endless and I let my mind wander about how I will make momma and papa proud.

I decided to read the morning’s newspaper, which is unusual because most youth didn’t see the need for the newspaper, they prefer their bloggers and paparazzi news.

I engaged myself in this until the central speaker in the hall boomed “Good Morning ladies and gentlemen, your lecture GSP 101 is starting in five minutes, do well to get yourself ready.”

I couldn’t help but laugh out loud because I never expected something like this in an higher institution.

Before long, a man in his mid-thirties entered the hall and everybody became silent. He was one of those random publishers who produces tips and guides to new higher institution students. He marketed his book to us, which many bought but not me. What suprised me was how he was able to do this within 10 minutes as the real lecturer entered just 5 mintues beyond stated time.

“I can’t wait anymore…” I thought to myself.
