“Woah! I have arrived, here comes Abdul Basit,” I said jokingly to myself. I was conscious that I was a nerdy 19 year old boy who wears glasses, and, I decided to choose a personal principle of “no friend, no foe,” which I thought would help me get accustomed to my new situation, but I was wrong.

I did all my registration within a week and I was super ready to start receiving lectures in ultra-modern, fully air-conditioned, one hundred seater halls with mounted projectors and speakers that will aid the delivery and receiving of lectures, woah! It was an agelong dream, but, unfortunately, lectures were not starting until the next week.

Although, I was downcasted, I thought, “It’s just next week, cheer up boy – no, guy,” I corrected myself in my thoughts.

The week sped by like a rocket, and soon there were just two days before lectures would start.

“Monday, can you just come now?” I thought.

Finally, it was time to get ready for my first lecture. I needed to make a good impression; not too vague and not too blunt. I decided to dress kind of casually. I was restless as I paced back and forth in my spacious room to look for the most formal yet casual clothes I could wear for a first time affair.

I conclusively decided to go for a fitted suit trouser and a sky blue shirt topped with a short, bike boy black tie and my pair of black tennis shoes. The best part of it all was a hood with an imprint of “2 + 2 = 22” at the back. I thought that was the best dressing for a chilly morning and I was right.

I mounted my bicycle, a present from my brother in the United States. The school road is a good one for my medium of transportation, “If I had a skateboard, it would be fantastic,” I said to myself. I got to class earlier than I thought and this gave me the cherised opportunity to checkout the auditorium before my course mates arrived.

“Off to school…” I said to myself.
