Lerato wakes up. It’s Monday, and she looks forward to going to work and telling Dee about her love story.
She switches on her phone and screams.
“NOOO!” she screams until Lethu shows up.
Lethu comes running as he was in the kitchen preparing her toasted bread, eggs, vienna, and tea. He is a romantic man; breakfast in bed for his queen is his love language.
“What is it? Is everything OK?” he asks, his eyes wide open from shock.
Lerato gives him the phone so that he can read the message himself. Lethu tells her to call Kayla, but she doesn’t pick up the phone.
“He killed her. He killed her. We need to go to the police ASAP before he thinks of running away,” Lerato says as she jumps out of bed like there’s a snake in the blankets.
They change into tracksuits, and Lethu drives to the Klein Police Station.
When they arrive at the police station, Lerato asks for the captain and tells him everything, even showing him the text from Kayla.
“This man, Justin Smith, is the 777 drug circle lord. Yesterday, his drugs delivery guy got arrested in Taiwan with cocaine, tik, and crystal,” the captain says.
Lerato looks at Lethu with her mouth open. She got married to a charismatic drug lord who dresses in suits!
Sammy, Lerato’s lawyer, arrives at Justin’s house. He rings the bell, and Justin opens the door. It is 8 am, but Justin is wearing shades with a black hoodie. The hoodie’s hat covers his face, leaving out his pointed nose and shades.
“Hi, Mr. Smith. I am here to deliver the divorce papers from Mrs. Smith. Sign them now so that Lerato can be a free woman. You know you were even cheating on her, so sign!” Sammy says with no smile on his face.
Justin signs the divorce papers before the police come for him. Sammy receives a call from Lerato as he is walking out of Justin’s yard.
“Did he sign the papers? He is apparently wanted for crime and the murder of his side chick. Watch him and follow him if you have to,” Lerato says.
The police and detectives get in their cars and drive to Justin’s place. When they arrive, Justin is getting in his car, ready to run away from his sins.
“FREEZE, JUSTIN. One stupid move, I’ll blow your brains,” says a tough six-foot-tall policeman.
The detective takes it from there.
“You are under arrest for breaking the law, crime, GBV, and the murder of Kayla Steven,” the detective says, hoping to see Justin getting out of his car with his hands above his head.
Justin has pills in his car. He overdoses on the pills, and in five minutes, foam is coming out of his mouth. His eyes turn and roll; he is dying.
“COME OUT OF THE CAR, JUSTIN. 1, 2, 3,” the detective says through the speaker he is holding.
One policeman opens the door and finds Justin’s corpse with foam all over his mouth. Even if he is dead, he will go to corpses’ prison… I heard they exist.
Lethu hugs Lerato as the forensic team places Justin’s corpse inside the corpse bag. Dee arrives and hugs her friend. They both cry because finally, the nightmare is over. Lerato’s nightmare is finally over. Her inheritance is safe, and she is a free woman.
The exciting thing is, her sweetheart is back. At the end of Lerato’s storm, there is a rainbow!
