On the other side the dark forest there was a boy named Monde who was the same as her but not so fortunate. He had nothing to show for he was not royalty. The life he lived was more of a nightmare compared to the sweet life the little Princess had. From the distance, everyone wanted to have such a life, but how? They were not princesses.

He lived with his grandma (one thing he had in common with Nqobile) with no father, just a picture and hear-say of what people told him. The feeling of love from a man he calls father he never knew, just tears flooding his dreams.

Nqobile dreamt of one day in the future having Prince Charming and living in the castle. But this Zulu Princess dreamt of not just any prince, but a man of God, a pastor. She kept a personal journal about all her dreams, it had all the cool pictures you could possible think of. Nqobile had a wild imagination that grew wilder as she grew older.

On Sunday, the Princess was getting ready for church with her grandma. She was in her white dress waiting for her friend to arrive so that they could go. Amanda arrived after just a moment so they went together.

There was not much playing as they did not want to get dirty. As the little girls were passing the fields there was a boy herding cattle. The Princess asked her granny, “Why is that boy not going to church and where did he get so many cows?

Gogo answered, “You see that boy is from the village called
Tholeni beyond the dark forest.”

“But Gogo, that’s way far from here.”

“Yes, he walks so far because the fields are dried up due to water shortage and the river is not close like it is here.”

As they walked by the boy looked on and wished that he, too, were going to church. But then what would happen to the cows if he were to go? He knew very well that his uncle would never agree to it.

The church was within sight and people were outside and the children were running around. They got there and everyone was happy to see Princess Nqobile. She went on to greet the pastor and went to play with the other children. The church service began and the Princess was singing. Everyone joined in song. The little Princess was happy in the house of God where she felt safe.

As soon as the church was out she quickly went to look for her grandma. Soon they were walking home and in the fields the boy was gathering his cows, readying them to go home. The Princess went to the fence and greeted the boy.

The boy smiled at her and went on to herd the cattle. He was going home to process such intricate beauty. Clearly the little man was amazed by this princess.

The next day, he was preparing to go to school with a smile on his face as he would be seeing the Princess at school. The Princes also could not stop wondering about that boy she had seen on the fields. A dream of a prince came to her mind so she daydreamed the rest of the day.
