December is the month when festivities kicked in. The festive fever was in the air; many were preparing for an epic festive season. The James family were planning a braai in their house to celebrate Kevin’s exceptional results and being the only child in the James home to study at a tertiary level.

On New year’s eve the James’ had a braai. Kevin had already invited some of his friends to come and celebrate with him. They had drinks and all took turns to check on the meat. It was great to finally fix things between the Cash Time and the Nazi’s. The two gangs were the most notorious and influential in their neighbourhood.

It was time for Kevin to head back to Johannesburg. Emma was more at ease than the first time Kevin left for Jo’burg. She somehow noticed how the city has changed her son. Kevin was more logical, focused and energetic.

That evening, Emma told Kevin something important. Kevin was told that the company his father worked for was actually registered with his father’s qualifications. Kevin didn’t believe that. Even if someone can be so cruel, how can someone open a company with another person’s qualifications and when that person dies they don’t take responsibility. The only way to be sure was to ask Tyson to hack into the company’s system and prove whether it was true or not.

The first thing Kevin did when he arrived in Jo’burg was to meet up with Tyson. He pretended to be interested in investing in the company of Mr Herold Van Wyk, the owner of Van Wyk Sentronics. Tyson found out that it was true that the company was registered with the qualifications of Mr Charles James, who was Kevin’s father. The company owed Charles a lot of money due to the usage of his qualifications. The company wasn’t willing to pay him and that caused a lot of stress for Charles.

The company was soon bankrupt due to the withdrawal of the certificate by Charles’ sister, Mary. The company could no longer operate without a certificate and many people were retrenched.

Kevin was now at the brink of having a meltdown. He thought of how his father died, it was obviously caused by the stress he got because of all the money issues. This was the tipping point for Kevin. He was finally ready to put his plan into action.
