Detective Cele lived with his wife and two teenagers in Spruitview. One night he forgot his phone on the table and the boys saw the monsters. They decided to post the clip “Seven eyes” on YouTube, hitting 100 million likes in a week.

A Zulu taxi driver ranking at Joburg had a problem with his vision. Someone spat on his hand and kept trying to dry it. Rain drops began to fall as his taxi got full. He stopped at the garage to fill up and a black owl kept following him. It was day time and he found it odd.

Along the road the taxi driver took a wrong turn and made everyone complain. He saw wild animals coming from the bush chasing his taxi and tried to out ride them while talking to his ancestors. He eventually lost the road and smashed the taxi against a tall tree.

The passengers got out, swearing at the injured driver demanding their money back. The lightning struck the bush creating veld fire. Before they knew it, the most feared witches stood far and walked through blaze dragging bloody tools. The passengers saw them and ran poles apart fending for their lives. The grinder sliced up heads with one blow, some ran up to the pickaxe which struck their guts. Veld fires trapped fast runners from escaping the bushes. Frozen to death by fear, the Zulu taxi driver ran back to his crashed taxi searching for his pistol and shot himself in the head.

The morning came and the police walked over the ashes. Detective Cele observed the scene and could remember the burnt taxi they drove around in hunting down the witches. Later at home while watching TV, he saw the ‘seven eyes’ clip making headlines and asked his kids.

“Did any of you get hold of my phone recently?” the kids denied it, making him think it was his wife, Susan.

The video reached 1 billion views in just four weeks; soon special co-operations were interested in seven eyes. That night, Susan got home late with handful of groceries and Detective Cele was sitting on his cough battling with his thoughts. Detective Cele saw her on live TV talking about seven eyes.

“I knew it was that rat, how could she do this to us?” he said from his couch.

“We always praised seven eyes, we just didn’t know the lake creatures could receive such attention!” she said on the screen blissfully.

A Nike store manager who once employed Khazi had been watching a lot of ghost videos at her store. Shoes flew across the store and fell next to costumers, chairs moved around the store without anyone pushing them. One day while she was on leave she got a call to report to work, something had come up. She drove through a thunder storm and parked her ride.

Everything refused to fall that day; everything was against the flat wall including customers, the cameras cracked and video tapes popped. People were standing in front of the windows unable to open the door when the store manager arrived. The floor trembled as power cuts rolled out, and glasses broke as computers and other electrical applications exploded.

The seven witches entered the mall building dragging bloody tools, people tried to run away but could not see a way out. Lead by Khafu, the killers chased the blinded shoppers spilling their throats open. The store manager took a broken glass from the floor and cut her veins till she lost a lot of blood and died.

Susan sold the rights of seven eyes to DAG, a company which experimented with indigenous animals. Powerful priests from Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity and other religions around the world were paid to come and help capture seven eyes. News helicopters across the sky broadcast the event to the global audience. K9 dogs and police surveyed the area.

Brett Lopez was the director and founder of DAG. Thousands of people gathered around making their predictions, Susan arrived in a DAG security truck welcomed from the door by Brett.

“My men are ready to move in, is there anything that we’re missing?” he walked with her to his refuge site.

“How strong are your cages?” she seemed intimidated.

“They are unbreakable Aluminium steel cages,” he said looking at the DAG choppers dropping three steel cages by rope.

Poles were set apart, between the stream and laser beams, and sent signals back to the containment unit monitor which acted as a field projector.

“Okay boys we have a live one here!” his team rejoiced with high fives getting their diving suits ready.

The day was sunny and everything was in place. Brett and his three colleagues channelled the P.K.E meter and located the seven eyes under water. They swam between the rocks, wearing diffusion spec filters with flashlights till the saw the open cave. The three creatures were resting peacefully in their open shells.

The DAG team pulled out tranquilizer shotguns and stung the creatures. Unable to feel the effects of the injector, the three snake dragons woke up in a bad mood. The team ran out of shots. Brett lost his gun and left his three men to be feasted upon. The DAG crew on the field fused the water with electrical current and waited for Brett to say the word before they switched the power.

Brett hid between the rocks till oxygen bubbles flew up and were seen by one of the creatures. The creature gave chase and Brett swam for a cave. Once he was in he gave the order and the team charged the water, shocking the creatures and knocking them out. The DAG crew trapped the paralysed creatures inside their cages and dragged them back to the field. Brett was the hero as people applauded his crew. He explained to the media that his achievement came at some cost; he lost three brave men along the course.

The heavy cages were transported in trucks back to headquarters in Cape-Town while security vans and helicopters were on the lookout. They travelled day and night maintain speed. People made plans to bump into them across the long road and take photos.

Susan came back home with a new car, her teenagers got gadgets, however their father was not too impressed.

“Do not count me in your deals with the devil, I’m not part of it,” Detective Cele was drinking coffee and reading about the history of the seven witches.

“You’re not part of anything, you’re not even part of your marriage. And I’m not sure I wanna be part of it too,” she changed her clothes and went out leaving the detective nodding.

A week later the mother Inkanyamba came back to her cave. Inkanyamba searched for the young ones across the river without any luck. The west county heard a screaming dragon from mid-day till mid-night as the thunder storm brought cold winds.
